About the event
Our event, XIMCC’26 (Xavier Intra-Moot Court Competition 2026), is an intra-university moot court competition organised by the Moot Court Society of Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
It gives law students a practical courtroom experience where they:
Research legal issues and case laws
Prepare written memorials
Develop legal arguments
Present arguments before a mock Bench
Respond to judicial questions
Improve advocacy, confidence and courtroom reasoning
In simple words, it is a simulated court competition where students step into the role of advocates and argue a legal case before
judges

- XIMCC’26 is the 4th edition of the Xavier Intra-Moot Court Competition, organised by the Moot Court Society, Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
- It began in 2023 as XavJustice and has developed into an established intra-college moot competition.
- The competition focuses on legal research, drafting, advocacy, courtroom reasoning and responding to judicial questions.
- It aims to assess more than just speaking skills—participants must demonstrate strong arguments, persuasive written submissions, proper use of authorities and a deep understanding of the proposition.
- The overall objective is to help students understand law as a means of protecting rights, delivering justice and upholding human dignity.
Flagship Moots
- XIMCC’26 continues the Moot Court Society’s broader efforts to promote excellence in legal research, advocacy and courtroom reasoning.
- It builds on major competitions such as the Surana & Surana St. Xavier’s University Technology Law Moot Court Competition 2026.
- The competition brings together aspiring advocates and challenges them to engage with contemporary legal issues.
- Participants are tested through memorials/written submissions and oral rounds, requiring them to research deeply, formulate precise arguments and defend them before the Bench.
- The central idea is: legal reasoning + advocacy + preparation + persuasion.
