Since its origin in 1999, The Knecht Cup Regatta welcomes colleges and universities from all over the country to compete on the Cooper River in Camden County, NJ, where William J. (Bill) Knecht established the rowing course that has become one of the most sought-after rowing courses in the country. Over 80 collegiate-level rowing programs compete during the weekend of competition, including 40 events named after legends in the rowing community.
Become a sponsor and support collegiate rowing while simultaneously gaining exposure for your brand at the largest collegiate regatta in the nation and in front of thousands of spectators internationally.
My name is Laura Knecht Blanche, and I was asked to take over hosting this event 5 years ago. The regatta was founded in 1999 by Jack St Clair and named in honor of my father, William J. Knecht, an Olympic Gold Medalist and lifelong promoter of rowing. Over 80 Colleges and Universities from across the nation come to compete in the three-day weekend on the Cooper River, a race course established by my father. Since I have taken over, I have consistently improved a regatta that was already one of the largest collegiate regattas in the country. My goal is to elevate the experience for competitors and spectators each year and to draw more attention to the incredible sport of rowing.
